Job Summary
The CNC & VMC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily machining operations, managing machine operators and setters, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, and improving productivity in CNC and VMC machining processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of CNC and VMC machines.
- Allocate work and monitor machine operators, setters, and helpers.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the production plan.
- Monitor machine setup, tooling, and process parameters.
- Ensure product quality meets customer and company requirements.
- Conduct first-piece approval and in-process inspections.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production Planning departments.
- Minimize machine downtime and improve machine utilization.
- Monitor tool life and ensure timely tool replacement.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain production records, reports, and shift documentation.
- Train and guide operators on machining processes and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–8 years of experience in CNC/VMC machining operations.
- Experience in supervising machine shop personnel.
- Knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, and Height Gauge.
