- Position Summary
- We are looking for a proactive Assistant Purchase Manager to support the Purchase
- Manager in driving timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement operations.
- The role requires strong ownership, fast turnaround times, hands-on execution of core
- purchase activities, and the ability to guide the team as required. The incumbent will also
- support vendor development initiatives and step in for the Purchase Manager whenever
- required.
- Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Purchase Manager in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of
- end-to-end purchase operations.
- Handle day-to-day functions including PR review, RFQ floating, quotation
- collection, comparative statement preparation, PO processing, follow-ups, and
- documentation.
- Coordinate closely with the R&D, Production, Projects & Stores teams to ensure
- timely sourcing and delivery of materials.
- Develop and onboard vendors. Consistently evaluate vendor performance based on
- quality, delivery, pricing, service, and responsiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions
- while maintaining quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Take ownership of assigned purchase tasks from requirement receipt to closure.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, MIS reports, ERP entries, PO trackers,
- supplier data, and documentation required for audits and internal reviews.
- Support cost-saving, alternate sourcing, localization, and process improvement
- initiatives across the purchase function.
- Guide and review the work of the purchase team members reporting below the
- Purchase Manager to ensure priorities are clear and actions are completed on time.
- Act as a backup to the Purchase Manager when required, including handling
- escalations, reviewing urgent procurement priorities, and coordinating crossfunctional
- decisions.
- Key Competencies/Qualifications Required
- BE/B.Tech. qualification is mandatory.
- 8-10 years of relevant purchase experience, preferably in manufacturing,
- automation, industrial equipment, or project-based environments.
- Strong technical understanding of engineering materials, industrial components,
- fabrication, and automation parts.
- High ownership mindset with the ability to take responsibility for outcomes, follow
- through independently, and close tasks with urgency.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and commercial evaluation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple parallel priorities.
- Strong coordination and communication skills for working with internal teams,
- suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
- Analytical approach to cost comparison, supplier evaluation, market pricing, and
- procurement risk identification.
- Team management capability with the maturity to guide junior team members and
- step up in the absence of the Purchase Manager.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
