The QC Inspector will be responsible for inspecting finished modular panels and furniture components on the factory floor, identifying defects, verifying dimensions and finishing quality, and ensuring that products are ready for packing and dispatch.
The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for detail, practical knowledge of modular furniture/interior production, and the ability to identify quality issues before products reach the customer or installation site.
Key Responsibilities1. Finished Product Inspection
- Inspect finished modular panels, shutters, cabinets, partitions, and other interior components.
- Check products against approved drawings, specifications, samples, and production requirements.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, squareness, edges, joints, and overall workmanship.
- Check laminate, veneer, acrylic, PU, paint, and other surface finishes for defects.
- Identify scratches, dents, chips, shade variation, bubbles, peeling, uneven edges, glue marks, and other finishing defects.
- Check drilling, grooves, cut-outs, fittings, and hardware positions as per drawings.
2. Dimensional & Functional Quality
- Measure finished panels and components using appropriate measuring tools.
- Verify length, width, thickness, diagonals, and other critical dimensions.
- Check that doors, drawers, shutters, and other moving components operate smoothly.
- Ensure hardware and fittings are properly installed and functioning.
- Verify that components are correctly labelled and match the production drawings/BOM.
3. Defect Identification & Reporting
- Identify and record defects during final inspection.
- Categorize defects as Critical / Major / Minor based on company quality standards.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain QC records.
- Clearly communicate defects to the Production Supervisor and relevant team.
- Ensure rejected products are properly identified and sent for rectification.
4. Production Quality Control
- Conduct regular quality checks on the factory floor rather than waiting until final dispatch.
- Work closely with production teams to identify recurring quality problems.
- Suggest corrective actions to reduce rejection and rework.
- Monitor quality trends and report recurring issues to management.
- Ensure rectified products are re-inspected before approval.
5. Final Approval & Dispatch
- Conduct final inspection before packing/dispatch.
- Ensure only approved products are released from the production floor.
- Check packing quality where required to ensure products are adequately protected during transportation.
- Maintain records of approved and rejected components.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma / Graduate qualification preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in QC/QA, preferably in modular furniture, interior manufacturing, woodworking, or similar manufacturing environments.
- Good understanding of modular furniture and interior production processes.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings and measurements.
- Good knowledge of measuring tools such as measuring tape, vernier caliper, square, spirit level, etc.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good understanding of finishing and workmanship standards.
- Ability to identify defects accurately and communicate them clearly.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining QC records is preferred.
- Ability to work on the factory floor and coordinate effectively with production staff.
