Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist with strong experience in the Steel Manufacturing industry to manage end-to-end procurement activities.
The role will be responsible for supplier identification, vendor management, price negotiation, contract management, procurement of raw materials, consumables and spare parts, inventory coordination and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Steel industry, strong negotiation skills and knowledge of international trade, material specifications and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, consumables, spare parts and maintenance items.
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and prevent stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to ensure materials meet required specifications.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
- Support procurement strategies aligned with business and manufacturing requirements.
- Manage supplier performance, delivery timelines and quality standards.
- Coordinate with international suppliers and understand international trade and business processes.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–8 years of procurement experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Steel industry.
- Experience in Steel Manufacturing / Pipe Manufacturing will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of procurement of raw materials, consumables and spare parts.
- Knowledge of material codes, specifications and technical requirements.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of international trade and commercial processes.
- Strong analytical and cost-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant procurement/supply chain qualifications will be an advantage.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
