Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Utility Fitter to maintain and troubleshoot utility systems that support plastic manufacturing operations. The candidate must have hands-on experience with air compressors, cooling towers, chillers, pumps, piping systems, boilers, thermic fluid heaters, and DG sets. The role requires ensuring uninterrupted utility services to production while minimizing downtime through preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of utility equipment.
- Maintain and repair air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, vacuum pumps, water circulation systems, and piping networks.
- Assist in the maintenance of boilers, thermic fluid heaters, DG sets, and water treatment plants (RO/Softener).
- Install, dismantle, align, and overhaul pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, pipelines, and mechanical assemblies.
- Replace bearings, mechanical seals, couplings, gaskets, bushes, and other worn components.
- Monitor utility parameters such as compressed air pressure, cooling water flow, chilled water temperature, and steam supply.
- Identify equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to prevent repeat breakdowns.
- Carry out leak testing and repair of air, water, and utility pipelines.
- Maintain utility equipment logs, preventive maintenance records, and spare parts consumption reports.
- Coordinate with production, electrical, and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted machine operation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S, TPM, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Support utility improvement projects to reduce energy consumption and improve equipment reliability.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial utility systems used in plastic manufacturing.
- Experience with air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and thermic fluid heaters.
- Proficiency in mechanical fitting, shaft alignment, bearing replacement, and equipment overhauling.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with industrial safety procedures and PPE compliance.
Qualification
- ITI Fitter (Mandatory)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–6 years of relevant experience in a plastic manufacturing, injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or polymer processing company.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with high-speed plastic processing machines and their utility systems.
- Ability to work independently during breakdown situations and under production pressure.
- Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requirements.
Preferred Industry: Plastic Manufacturing, Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Extrusion, Polymer Processing, Packaging Manufacturing.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹29,343.30 per month
