Job Summary
The Ward Boy is responsible for assisting nursing staff with basic patient-care support, maintaining cleanliness and order in the ward, transporting patients and medical materials and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nurses in providing basic non-clinical patient care.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and transportation within the hospital.
- Transport patients to diagnostic, treatment, or other hospital departments as instructed.
- Assist in shifting patients between beds, wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of beds, bedside areas, and ward equipment.
- Help with changing bed linen and maintaining patient comfort.
- Transport specimens, reports, medicines, equipment, and other hospital materials as authorized.
- Assist nursing staff during procedures and emergencies as directed.
- Dispose of waste appropriately according to hospital infection-control procedures.
- Maintain hygiene and follow hospital safety and infection-prevention guidelines.
- Provide respectful, courteous, and compassionate assistance to patients and their attendants.
- Report any patient concerns, accidents, damage, or unusual incidents to the nursing staff.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Ward In-Charge or hospital management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education: 10th or 12th standard, as per hospital requirements.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control.
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Responsible, punctual, patient and compassionate.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
