Job Overview
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding distribution, and strengthening market presence across the assigned territory. The role involves managing distributors, leading the sales team, ensuring effective execution of trade initiatives, and achieving primary and secondary sales targets while maintaining strong customer relationships and process compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Growth
- Achieve primary & secondary sales targets.
- Drive market share and revenue growth.
- Ensure product availability across the territory.
Distribution & Channel Development
- Appoint and develop distributors.
- Expand retail reach and strengthen channel presence.
- Build strong relationships with distributors and key retailers.
Team Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team.
-Monitor team performance and productivity.
Execution & Compliance
-Execute trade schemes and promotional activities.
-Track sales performance, forecasts, and market insights.
-Ensure adherence to company policies and sales processes.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management is preferred
- Experience with Sales Force Automation (SFA) tools is preferred.
- Strong understanding of distributor management and channel development.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in FMCG Traditional Trade sales.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing an area independently.
