We are building Genera because AI has a major capacity shortage. No, we aren’t talking about compute capacity. The #1 bottleneck for enterprise AI is deployment capacity.
FDE is the hottest job in tech, and no fast growing AI company can hire enough of them to keep up with customer demand. Historically, System Integrators have been the default solution for scaling software implementations without linearly adding more headcount. But SI’s are a $450b market with a premise that is fundamentally at odds with the promise of AI. You shouldn’t pay consultants by the hour to deploy software that is designed to displace human labor.
Genera agents automate routine deployment work like requirements gathering, data migration, and configuration building. Our deployment team is made up of the top FDE talent every company can’t hire fast enough. With Genera, our customers pay for outcomes not hours and their customers go live faster than ever before.
Genera was founded by Will and James, Stanford classmates with two decades of experience building and deploying AI products. We raised $10m led by First Round Capital and we are growing our team in SF and Bangalore.
About the Role
We are growing our team of core product engineers who build the system that automates enterprise software deployments. This includes agents that automate routine tasks, our context layer that contains the full history of every deployment, and integrations that allow us to plug into our customers’ existing workflows like an always-on teammate. You’ll work closely with our customers and Deployments team to deliver outcomes, not just software.
Your Skillset
You have 5+ years of experience shipping enterprise products for complex use cases, ideally with an AI slant to them
You are a full stack generalist with experience in TypeScript/React + familiarity with modern AI infrastructure (Modal, Temporal, Claude Agent SDK, etc)
Your default mode is ship fast and iterate, including putting together quick prototypes and demo videos to get feedback
You have strong product sense and want to be involved in roadmap/design decisions, not just execute on a spec
You are a strong communicator both internally and externally, and enjoy spending time with customers
Your Mindset
You are deeply curious about product/company building– whether keeping up on the latest AI developments, or learning how to run a great sales call or marketing launch
You thrive in the face of ambiguity, bring an adventurous spirit to your work, and aren’t afraid to change direction when necessary
You have a growth mindset and are constantly looking for opportunities to improve as an individual and as a team/business
You have great taste that is expressed through your craft and commitment to quality when it comes to building products
You have exposure to and empathy for the challenges of deploying enterprise software, and are motivated to solve this problem for our customers
