Position: Junior Advocate – Debt Resolution & Recovery Matters / Legal Intern
Settlend Legal Advisors LLP (Debtkart) is looking for sincere, responsible and professionally driven Junior Advocates and Legal Interns to assist in borrower-side debt-resolution and recovery-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling and responding to recovery agents, banks, NBFCs and lending institutions
- Drafting legal notices, replies, rejoinders, representations and settlement requests
- Communicating with clients and understanding their financial and legal grievances
- Handling recovery-harassment complaints and lender communications
- Assisting in arbitration, mediation, conciliation and pre-litigation proceedings
- Preparing case summaries, conducting legal research and organising supporting documents
- Maintaining client records, follow-ups and case updates
- Coordinating with advocates, financial institutions and recovery agencies
- Providing basic legal assistance to clients under senior supervision
Eligibility and Skills Required:
- LL.B. degree from a recognised university for the position of Junior Advocate
- Enrolment with the State Bar Council preferred
- Law students may apply for the Legal Internship position
- Freshers and advocates with up to 1–2 years of experience may apply
- Good knowledge of legal drafting and basic civil, banking and arbitration laws
- Strong communication and client-handling skills
- Proficiency in English, Hindi and Bengali preferred
- Ability to handle recovery agents and difficult client situations professionally
- Basic knowledge of RBI guidelines, debt-recovery practices and consumer rights will be an advantage
- Must be sincere, disciplined and capable of working in a team
Internship Terms:
The Legal Internship is an unpaid learning opportunity. Only reasonable travelling expenses incurred for authorised official work will be reimbursed, subject to prior approval and submission of supporting proof.
