Role Purpose: The Creative Lead is responsible for driving packaging design excellence, leading concept development, ensuring brand consistency, and delivering innovative, functional, and market-ready packaging solutions aligned with client objectives and business goals.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Creative Direction & Concept Development
- Lead the conceptualization and development of innovative packaging designs across product categories.
- Translate brand strategy, product positioning, and marketing objectives into impactful packaging solutions.
- Develop creative concepts, mood boards, and design directions for client presentations.
- Ensure packaging designs balance aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Stay updated with global packaging trends, materials, and sustainability practices.
2. Design Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of graphic designers and packaging designers.
- Review and approve design outputs to ensure high creative standards.
- Provide constructive feedback and direction to improve design quality.
- Allocate projects effectively based on team strengths and timelines.
- Conduct regular design reviews and creative brainstorming sessions.
3. Client Collaboration & Presentation
- Participate in client meetings to understand design briefs and requirements.
- Present creative concepts and packaging solutions confidently to clients.
- Incorporate client feedback while maintaining creative integrity.
- Ensure client satisfaction through high-quality and timely deliverables.
4. Brand Consistency & Quality Control
- Ensure all packaging designs align with brand guidelines and visual identity.
- Maintain consistency across packaging SKUs and product lines.
- Ensure accuracy in artwork, dielines, typography, and regulatory information.
- Conduct final design checks before production release.
5. Production & Execution Support
- Collaborate with production, vendors, and printers to ensure design feasibility.
- Guide the team on packaging materials, finishes, and printing techniques.
- Ensure designs are production-ready with correct specifications and formats.
- Resolve design challenges during sampling and production stages.
6. Innovation & Market Research
- Research competitor packaging, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Drive innovation in structural and graphic packaging design.
- Suggest new ideas, materials, finishes, and formats to enhance brand value.
- Contribute to internal innovation and portfolio development.
7. Project & Timeline Management
- Ensure timely delivery of packaging design projects.
- Prioritize projects based on deadlines and business priorities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including sales, client servicing, and production teams.
- Ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
