Job title: Sr. NPD Engineer- India Pumps

Location: Daman, India

Employment Full time

Reports to: Direct - Dir. Eng. EMEA & APAC

Dotted line – Sr. Director & GM, India Pumps

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The New Sr Product Development (NPD) Engineer plays a critical role in driving innovation, developing new products, and enhancing engineering excellence to support CIRCOR's Region for Region strategy in APAC. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a collaborative mindset to ensure products meet performance, quality, and cost expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Leadership and Team Management

Build and lead the newly created - NPD team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

Oversee resource allocation and talent development to ensure NPD project goals are achieved on time and within budget.

2. Product Development & Design

Collaborate with global and regional Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to align NPD priorities with customer and market demands under the Region for Region strategy.

Drive the end-to-end New Product Development process, from ideation, conceptual design, prototyping, testing, to final commercialization, supported by global NPD project managers.

Generate design concepts and conduct feasibilities studies

Perform detailed design activities including CFD simulations for hydraulics, FEA for structure integrity and reliability and develop 2D/3D drawings.

Build and test prototypes to validate product performance, operationality and maintainability.

Perform extensive tests (lab, functions, endurance) to assess product efficiency and reliability.

Validate compliance with industry standards (ASME, API, ISO), marine classification requirements, and local regulations.

Develop production tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing trails and mass production.

Prepare Bills of materials (BOMs), manuals and all design related documentation or reports

Monitor product performance in the field and gather customer feedback.

3. Technical Excellence

Ensure products meet technical specifications, performance benchmarks, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.

Leverage engineering tools such as CAD software (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Implement Design-to-Cost principles, optimizing cost efficiency and manufacturing scalability.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance innovation and efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

8-10 years of experience in product development, design, or R&D roles in the industrial rotating equipment or pump industry.

Proficiency in CAD tools, simulation software, and engineering design processes.

CAD tools, preferable Siemens NX

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations

Einite Element Analysis (FEA) for structure design and stress analysis.

Hands-on knowledge in GD&T and Drafting (ANSI Y14.5)

Familiar with international standards like ASME, ANSI, DIN, FCI, EN, ASTM, NACE, API, PED, etc.

Strong understanding of pump technologies, material sciences, and critical application requirements (e.g., Commercial Marine, Chemical Processing, Power Generation, Industrial, O&G etc.).

Have knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and ERP systems.

Excellent project management, communication and problem-solving skills.

Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and driving complex product development projects.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design or a related technical field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent spoken and written English.
