Job Summary
The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and maintaining all civil works within the hospital premises. The role includes overseeing construction, renovation, repairs, infrastructure maintenance, contractor management, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all civil construction and renovation projects.
- Inspect and maintain hospital buildings, structures, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants for civil works.
- Prepare project estimates, BOQs, and material requirements.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion within budget.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to engineering standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of walls, flooring, roofing, drainage, and other civil structures.
- Identify and resolve structural defects, leakages, cracks, and maintenance issues.
- Maintain records of civil maintenance activities and project documentation.
- Verify contractor bills, work completion reports, and material usage.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Biomedical, Electrical, and Housekeeping departments during projects.
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules for civil assets.
- Respond promptly to emergency civil maintenance issues.
- Recommend cost-effective solutions for repairs and infrastructure improvements.
- Monitor inventory of civil maintenance materials and tools.
- Ensure proper housekeeping at work sites during and after completion of work.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to management.
- Follow hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
- Freshers or experienced candidates may apply.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in civil construction or maintenance.
- Experience in hospitals, commercial buildings, or healthcare infrastructure is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of civil construction and building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Project planning and site supervision skills.
- Vendor and contractor management.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and estimation software is an added advantage.

Working Conditions
