Job Summary
The primary job responsibility is to work on Aero Structure components and to take complete ownership of his or her work on various tasks involved in Design Engineering. Candidate shall support independently or with minimal supervision on Design and Definition tasks. The execution will be in accordance with established design practices and work instructions.
Candidate must take complete responsibility for assigned tasks, and should provide regular updates to his team leader as well as the programs teams.
Key Responsibilities
Individual contributor and Team player working in Civil Design Engineering department who can support the structural design process to ensure required quality is achieved within direct area of responsibility
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency
Develop, implement, and check technical solutions and compliance documentation to ensure they are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.
Identify technical problems and apply/integrate solutions.
Execute and implement methods plans, toolsets and approaches that are appropriate and compliant to achieve the design and programme objectives.
Identify and assess technical risk for own work and propose mitigations within assigned programmes/projects.
Capable of reviewing deliverables (Self and peer) - Attention to details with an eye on schedule
Support technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews, including the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of product design.
Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision and support other engineers with peer-to-peer reviews.
Generate assigned project deliverables, documents, and reports according to the project signature authorizations.
Identify improvements and support the creation of work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidelines.
Skill Requirements
Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Must have 10-15 years’ experience in Design of Detail Parts, Assemblies and Installations which include producing 3D models and 2D drawings.
Hands on experience in updating detail as well as installation design.
Excellent understanding on the Product knowledge of Aero structure components
in Wing Structure (or) Fuselage, Horizontal & Vertical Stabilizers.
Hands on Experience Excellent knowledge on Design for manufacturing (DFM) both Metallic and Composite structures including knowledge in Build to Print, Bill of Material creation and capturing the Engineering Change Notes for appropriate Design solutions
Hands On Experience in creating models in Design Tools like CATIA V5
Hands on experience on Impact analysis of Engineering changes
Hands On Experience of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Excellent knowledge in Product life cycle management and should be able to work in Windchill and Enovia environment.
Experience in project management activities like estimating, scheduling and planning project work
Knowledge and hands on experience in Airbus standard and release process.
Knowledge and hands on experience in Airbus product structure and configurations.
Other Requirements
Desirable:
Added advantage to possess Airbus PDM/VPM Training personnel with appropriate credentials and Airbus Enovia Proficient.
EASA trained or certified with valid NG ID or eligible to get a NG ID.
Experience in meta data updating in PASS and creation of BOM & ECN
Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written
Team player and understands organisational culture and values
High level knowledge in Stress and Manufacturing to enable cross functional coordination and collaboration.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Self-driven individual who can expand his/her skills with on-job training
Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
