We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor who can transform raw footage into compelling news stories, interviews, documentaries, reels, and promotional videos.
Job Summary
The Video Editor will be responsible for editing news packages, interviews, breaking news clips, social media videos, and promotional content. The ideal candidate should have strong storytelling skills, excellent technical knowledge of video editing software, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit daily news stories, interviews, press conferences, and special reports.
- Create engaging videos for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and other digital platforms.
- Edit short-form content such as Reels, Shorts, and promotional videos.
- Add graphics, lower thirds, transitions, captions, subtitles, logos, and visual effects where required.
- Synchronize video footage with audio, voiceovers, background music, and sound effects.
- Perform color correction, color grading, and basic audio enhancement.
- Coordinate closely with reporters, camera operators, producers, and the editorial team.
- Ensure all content meets editorial standards, branding guidelines, and publishing deadlines.
- Organize, archive, and maintain video files and project assets.
- Stay updated with the latest editing trends, software, and digital storytelling techniques.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Working knowledge of After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Basic understanding of motion graphics and animation.
- Knowledge of color correction, audio editing, and video compression.
- Understanding of news storytelling and digital media content.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and creativity.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Video Editing, Film Production, Mass Communication, Multimedia, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in video editing for news, television, digital media, or production houses.
- Freshers with an impressive portfolio and strong editing skills may also apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience editing news and current affairs content.
- Knowledge of YouTube optimization and social media video formats.
- Experience with motion graphics and infographic videos.
- Familiarity with DSLR, mirrorless, or broadcast camera footage.
- Basic photography and videography knowledge.
