Job Summary
The Floor Coordinator / Floor Supervisor is responsible for managing daily workshop floor operations, ensuring efficient vehicle movement, monitoring technician productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring timely delivery of vehicles while following OEM guidelines and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily workshop floor activities and allocate jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload.
- Monitor repair progress and ensure timely completion of service and repair jobs.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding job status, repair updates, and vehicle delivery schedules.
- Ensure vehicles are moved efficiently between washing, diagnosis, repair, quality inspection, and delivery areas.
- Monitor technician attendance, productivity, efficiency, and utilization.
- Ensure all repairs are performed according to OEM standards and workshop SOPs.
- Conduct final quality checks before vehicle delivery.
- Ensure availability of required spare parts by coordinating with the Parts Department.
- Monitor pending jobs and minimize vehicle turnaround time (TAT).
- Maintain workshop discipline, cleanliness, and 5S standards.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Implement workplace safety practices and ensure compliance with EHS guidelines.
- Maintain job cards, work allocation records, productivity reports, and daily workshop MIS.
- Assist in handling customer complaints related to workshop repairs.
- Support Service Manager in achieving workshop productivity and revenue targets.
- Coordinate with Warranty Executives for warranty-related repair jobs.
- Train and guide technicians on new service procedures and OEM updates.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in an automobile workshop, preferably in Commercial Vehicles (CV) or Passenger Vehicles (PV).
