1. Books Closure Support (Month-end / Year-end)
* Execute month-end and year-end closing activities as per checklist.
* Follow up with clients to obtain required documents (bank statements, invoices, reports, etc.).
* Ensure all checklist items are completed and properly documented.
* Track pending items and escalate delays to Senior.
* Coordinate with client’s in-house accountants for closure requirements.
* Maintain proper file structure and working papers for each client.
2. Verification & Basic Review
* Verify completeness of:
* Bank reconciliations
* Credit card reconciliations
* AR & AP ageing reports
* Inventory reports
* Cross-check:
* Supporting documents vs reports
* Trial balance vs schedules
* Opening vs closing balances
* Identify and highlight:
* Missing entries/documents
* Negative balances
* Unusual or incomplete data
3. Inventory & Supporting Checks
* Collect inventory reports from client.
* Verify:
* Stock reports availability
* Physical vs system stock reports (if provided)
* Inventory ageing reports
* Highlight:
* Negative stock
* Incomplete records
4. Analysis Support (Data Preparation)
* Prepare basic data for analysis:
* Month-on-month comparison sheets
* Expense summaries
* Revenue summaries
* Extract data required by Senior for:
* Variance analysis
* Ratio calculations
5. Client Coordination
* Act as primary follow-up point for:
* Missing documents
* Clarifications
* Pending items
* Send reminders and maintain follow-up tracker.
* Ensure timely communication and documentation of responses.
* Escalate unresponsive clients to Senior.
6. Documentation & Working Papers
* Maintain organized working files for each client.
* Ensure:
* Proper naming conventions
* Version control
* Supporting documents attached
* Prepare closure folders ready for Senior review.
7. Reporting
Junior reports to:
* Senior
* Team Lead
* Manager
Junior should report:
* Daily / weekly closure status
* Pending items list
* Client delays
* Checklist completion status
* Issues identified during verification
8. Compliance Support (Basic)
* Collect VAT-related data from client.
* Assist in VAT working preparation.
* Ensure required documents are available for audit.
* Maintain compliance trackers (VAT filing dates, etc.).
