Position Title: Housekeeping Manager

Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising all housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across the premises. The incumbent will be responsible for team management, training, implementation of SOPs, chemical management, and efficient utilization of housekeeping equipment and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping Operations
- Oversee day-to-day housekeeping operations and ensure cleanliness standards are maintained across all assigned areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of common areas, washrooms, offices, public areas, and other designated spaces.
- Ensure timely closure of housekeeping-related complaints and service requests.
SOP Development & Implementation
- Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all housekeeping activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to established SOPs and quality standards.
- Continuously improve housekeeping processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Chemical Management
- Possess thorough knowledge of housekeeping chemicals, their applications, safety measures, and dilution ratios.
- Ensure correct chemical dilution and usage as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Monitor consumption of chemicals and implement cost control measures.
- Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
Training & Team Development
- Conduct induction and refresher training programs for housekeeping staff.
- Train team members on cleaning techniques, SOPs, safety practices, machine operations, and customer service.
- Assess staff performance and identify training needs for continuous improvement.
Housekeeping Equipment & Machinery
- Have sound knowledge of housekeeping machines and equipment such as:
- Single Disc Scrubber
- Ride-on Scrubber Dryer
- Vacuum Cleaner (Wet & Dry)
- High Pressure Jet Machine
- Carpet Cleaning Machine
- Escalator Cleaning Machine
- Steam Cleaning Equipment
- Ensure proper operation, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of all housekeeping equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors/service providers for machine maintenance and repairs.
Team Management
- Supervise, guide, and motivate the housekeeping team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Prepare duty rosters, deployment plans, and manpower schedules.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, grooming, and productivity of staff.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Graduate in Hotel Management or any relevant discipline who should be a good team player.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping chemicals, dilution systems, and cleaning methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining housekeeping machinery.
- Proven experience in SOP development and implementation.
- Excellent training, leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and report preparation.
