Position Overview
We are looking for an empathetic, energetic, and passionate Pre-Primary Mother Teacher to create a loving, safe, and stimulating environment for our early childhood learners.
As a Mother Teacher, you will act as a primary caregiver and guide, overseeing both the academic and socio-emotional growth of young children during their critical early foundation years.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery & Classroom Management
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences following the Birla Open Minds curriculum guidelines.
- Employ play-based, inquiry-driven, and multi-sensory teaching methodologies (phonics, storytelling, music, movement, and arts).
- Maintain an interactive, vibrant, safe, and well-organized classroom environment that promotes independent exploration.
2. Child Care & Socio-Emotional Development
- Act as the primary anchor ("Mother Teacher") to help children transition smoothly into the school environment, building strong, trusting relationships.
- Support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Assist with essential daily routines, including snack/meal times, hygiene practices, and personal care guidance.
3. Assessment & Learning Documentation
- Observe and track each child’s individual developmental milestones, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Maintain complete portfolio assessments, progress report cards, and anecdotes for every student.
- Identify students needing extra assistance and design adapted learning activities to support them.
4. Parent Engagement & Communication
- Establish regular, professional, and transparent communication with parents regarding child progress and daily routines.
- Conduct impactful Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and participate in orientation sessions.
- Address parental queries and concerns with empathy, tact, and professionalism.
5. Collaboration & School Events
- Collaborate effectively with co-teachers, support staff, and school leadership.
- Actively plan and execute school events, celebrations, sports days, field trips, and annual showcases.
- Participate in professional development workshops and curriculum training sessions provided by the school network.
Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Background Degree:
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- Certification: NTT (Nursery Teacher Training), Montessori Teacher Training, or ECCED (Early Childhood Care and Education) certification.
- Experience Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience in a preschool or pre-primary setup.
- Freshers with exceptional communication skills and relevant early childhood certifications may also apply.
Soft Skills & Core Competencies
- Excellent English communication skills (both spoken and written).
- High emotional intelligence, patience, warmth, and genuine love for working with young children.
- Strong classroom management skills with a gentle, positive-reinforcement approach.
- Creativity in arts, crafts, storytelling, or music.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, emails, online teaching tools).
- Preferred Attributes Familiarity with integrated or thematic curriculum patterns.
- Ability to handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm and enthusiasm.
