Cost Controller – Food & Beverage
Job Summary
The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling food, beverage, and operational costs. The role ensures accurate inventory management, recipe costing, purchasing control, and compliance with company policies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily food and beverage costs and analyze cost variances.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports for management.
- Conduct inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Review purchase orders, goods received notes (GRNs), invoices, and supplier pricing.
- Verify standard recipes, menu costing, and selling prices to maintain target gross profit margins.
- Monitor waste, spoilage, and stock movements, and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform spot checks on stores, kitchens, bars, and receiving areas.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and internal policies.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Stores, Kitchen, and Operations teams regarding stock levels and cost optimization.
- Analyze consumption trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Assist with month-end inventory valuation and financial closing activities.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Cost Accounting or Hospitality Finance is an advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience as a Cost Controller, Cost Accountant, or Inventory Controller in hotels, restaurants, catering, or the F&B industry.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Material Control, FMC, or similar).
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage costing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of inventory management and stock control processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.

Pay: ₹25,000.81 - ₹30,000.92 per month
