We're looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team! You'll create show-stopping pastries, desserts, and baked goods at scale — think big orders, busy cafes, or catering. Handle high-volume production without compromising on quality or creativity.
Responsibilities:
- Produce large quantities of pastries/breads daily while maintaining quality
- Manage time efficiently for production peaks (mornings, events)
- Develop and scale recipes for bulk production
- Lead/mentor junior staff in high-pressure situations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in a busy pastry section
- Collaborate with teams for large events/catering
- Work with Head Chef on menu planning and specials
- Ensure consistency, presentation, and taste are on point
Must-haves:
- 5+ years in a professional pastry kitchen, ideally with volume experience
- Mastery of pastry techniques for a quick turn around time
- Creativity, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
- Strong time management and team leadership skills
- Ability to work in shifts
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with commercial baking equipment
- Knowledge of cost control and inventory for large batches
- Custom order handling (cakes, bulk pastries)
- Knowledge of dietary trends (gluten-free, vegan, etc.)
- Comfortable working fast in a dynamic, high-volume environment
- Cake / Pastry decorating skills
