Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Exim Head to manage and oversee the organization's end-to-end export-import operations. The role requires strong expertise in international logistics, customs regulations, trade documentation, freight negotiations, banking procedures, government licensing, and compliance management. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the manufacturing sector and a proven track record of optimizing logistics costs while ensuring seamless global trade operations.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Shipment Management
- Manage the complete movement of inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods.
- Coordinate shipping schedules in alignment with production plans to avoid material shortages, factory downtime, or port storage costs.
- Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of shipments while maintaining operational efficiency.
Freight Negotiation & Carrier Management
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements directly with shipping lines, airlines, and logistics providers.
- Optimize transportation costs and secure container/space allocations during peak seasons.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners and carriers.
Customs Clearance & CHA Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for Custom House Agents (CHAs).
- Ensure smooth customs clearance of import and export shipments.
- Resolve issues related to HS code classification, valuation, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Minimize delays, demurrage, and detention charges through proactive coordination.
Banking Documentation & Trade Finance
- Manage export-import documentation, including Letters of Credit (LC), Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and related shipping documents.
- Ensure timely submission of documents to banks for LC negotiation and collections.
- Track export proceeds realization and ensure compliance with RBI and trade regulations.
Licensing & Government Liaison
- Handle trade licenses and export incentive schemes such as Advance Authorization, EPCG, DFIA, Duty Drawback, and related programs.
- Coordinate with DGFT, Customs, and other government authorities for approvals, renewals, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor policy changes and ensure organizational compliance with applicable trade regulations.
Compliance, Audit & File Closure
- Maintain complete shipment documentation and closure files for all import-export transactions.
- Ensure accurate tracking of duty drawback claims, EGM/IGM matching, and license redemption processes.
- Establish strong audit trails and documentation controls to support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, foreign trade policies, and statutory requirements.

Qualification
- Master's Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
- Additional certification in Export-Import Management or International Trade will be preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in Export-Import operations within a manufacturing organization.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and international trade regulations.
- Proven experience in freight negotiations and government licensing processes.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive process improvements.
