Job Summary
We are looking for an R&D Chemist – Liquid & Polymers to support laboratory experimentation, raw material testing and validation, new product development, product performance improvement, and technical documentation.
The candidate will work closely with R&D, QA, QC, Procurement, Production, vendors, and other internal teams to support product development and ensure consistent quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct R&D activities including alternative raw material testing and validation, cost optimization of existing products, complaint analysis, and competitor product benchmarking.
- Support new product development and product performance improvement activities.
- Conduct laboratory experimentation and testing of raw materials and finished products.
- Prepare laboratory batches and test them against defined specifications while following SOPs.
- Coordinate with external vendors for laboratory chemicals and required resources.
- Work with the Procurement team to develop alternate/backup sources for raw materials.
- Collaborate with QA and QC teams to ensure production batches meet required quality standards.
- Prepare laboratory analysis reports, technical documents, and ISO 9001:2015 (QMS) documentation.
- Conduct calibration of laboratory equipment and maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and customers as required.
- Coordinate with team members, including contract labour, for smooth execution of R&D and laboratory activities.
Required Skills & Technical Knowledge
- Hands-on experience in laboratory experimentation and testing.
- Experience/exposure to New Product Development (NPD) and product performance improvement.
- Good knowledge of tile adhesives, grouts, and coating products.
- Knowledge of raw material and finished product testing and validation.
- Good knowledge of resin-based chemistry, particularly:
- Epoxy
- Polyurethane (PU)
- Acrylics
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.
Educational Qualification
M.Tech / M.E. / M.Sc. / B.Sc. in:
- Polymer Science
- Material Science
- Chemistry
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in R&D, laboratory testing, raw material validation, product development, and product performance improvement will be preferred.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
