Job Purpose
To provide students with comprehensive theoretical and practical training in Housekeeping Operations, developing their technical knowledge, professional standards, grooming, and industry-ready skills for careers in hotels and the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Training
- Conduct theory classes related to Housekeeping Operations.
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, demonstrations, and practical activities.
- Teach topics including:
- Introduction to Housekeeping Operations
- Cleaning procedures and techniques
- Guest room cleaning and servicing
- Public area cleaning
- Bed making and room setup
- Linen and Uniform Room operations
- Laundry operations
- Housekeeping equipment and chemicals
- Cleaning agents and their applications
- Inventory and stock control
- Lost & Found procedures
- Pest control and hygiene
- Safety and security procedures
- Housekeeping coordination with Front Office and other departments
2. Practical Training
- Conduct practical sessions in the Housekeeping Training Lab and guest-room setup area.
- Demonstrate professional bed-making techniques.
- Train students in guest-room cleaning and inspection.
- Demonstrate cleaning equipment and chemical handling.
- Train students in bathroom and public-area cleaning.
- Conduct practical exercises on linen handling, laundry, and inventory management.
- Conduct role plays and simulations based on real hotel situations.
3. Student Development
- Train students in hotel housekeeping standards and professional discipline.
- Develop students' grooming, hygiene, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Prepare students for industrial training, internships, and hotel placements.
- Mentor students regarding career opportunities in Housekeeping.
- Monitor students' practical performance and provide feedback.
4. Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct written tests, practical examinations, assignments, demonstrations, and viva.
- Evaluate students' housekeeping knowledge and practical skills.
- Maintain attendance, practical records, assessment records, and student performance reports.
- Provide guidance to students who require additional training.
5. Industry Exposure
- Coordinate hotel visits and housekeeping department tours.
- Establish professional relationships with hotels and hospitality organizations.
- Arrange guest lectures and workshops by industry professionals.
- Keep students updated about current housekeeping standards and practices.
6. Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain lesson plans and practical schedules.
- Maintain housekeeping laboratory equipment and inventory.
- Ensure proper cleanliness, safety, and organization of training areas.
- Participate in college events, seminars, workshops, examinations, and placement activities.
- Coordinate with other faculty members for academic and practical activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management.
- Relevant experience in Hotel Housekeeping Operations is preferred.
- Teaching or training experience in a Hotel Management Institute will be an advantage.

Preferred Experience
0–5 years of experience in Hotel Housekeeping Operations, hotel training, or teaching in a Hotel Management College/Institute.
