We are seeking an entrepreneurial Practice Director who will establish, lead, and scale this strategic business unit.
Position Summary
The Practice Director will be responsible for building and growing Evoort Solutions' Business Applications Practice with an initial focus on Tax Automation and ERP Consulting.
This is a leadership position requiring a unique combination of business consulting, ERP implementation expertise, enterprise application knowledge, solution architecture understanding, pre-sales consulting, delivery governance, and practice development.
The successful candidate will work directly with executive leadership to define the long-term strategy while independently building the consulting practice, recruiting and mentoring team members, creating implementation methodologies, supporting sales opportunities, and delivering successful customer implementations.
While prior experience with Avalara or Odoo is highly desirable, the most important qualification is proven success leading ERP consulting practices, enterprise software implementations, business transformation initiatives, and customer-facing solution delivery. Evoort Solutions will support the selected candidate in obtaining advanced Avalara and Odoo product knowledge, certifications, and partner enablement.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership & Strategy
Build and lead Evoort Solutions' Business Applications Practice.
Define the long-term vision, service portfolio, implementation methodologies, and growth strategy.
Establish scalable consulting, implementation, managed services, and product offerings.
Develop reusable implementation accelerators, templates, frameworks, and best practices.
Define KPIs, utilization targets, delivery standards, and customer success metrics.
Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives and technology investments.
Business Development & Pre-Sales
Lead customer discovery workshops and business process assessments.
Translate business challenges into technology-driven solutions.
Conduct executive presentations, solution demonstrations, and strategic consulting sessions.
Prepare solution proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), implementation estimates, and project plans.
Support enterprise sales opportunities from qualification through solution design.
Collaborate with technology partners on joint go-to-market initiatives.
Tax Automation & Compliance Practice
Lead the development of consulting and implementation services for:
Sales & Use Tax Automation
Excise Tax Automation
Tax Compliance Processes
Nexus Management
Tax Determination
Exemption Certificate Management
Compliance Reporting
eCommerce Tax Automation
ERP Tax Automation
Multi-jurisdiction Tax Configuration
Work closely with Evoort leadership and technology partners to expand implementation capabilities and establish a recognized tax automation practice.

Lead consulting and implementation services involving:
Business Process Analysis

Develop standardized implementation methodologies for rapid project delivery.
Delivery Leadership
Oversee consulting engagements from initiation through post-go-live support.
Establish delivery governance, quality standards, and project review processes.
Mentor consultants, architects, developers, analysts, and implementation teams.
Ensure successful customer outcomes and long-term client relationships.
Team Building & Talent Development
Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing consultants, business analysts, solution architects, developers, and project managers.
Build a scalable consulting organization capable of supporting global customers.
Establish internal training programs and career development plans.
Coordinate product certifications and partner enablement programs.
Innovation & Product Development
Collaborate with Evoort's engineering and AI teams to build:
Productized implementation offerings
Avalara integration accelerators
Odoo implementation frameworks
Shopify public applications
ERP integration connectors
AI-powered implementation assistants
API-based automation services
Self-service onboarding platforms
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in ERP consulting, enterprise applications, digital transformation, or business solutions.
5+ years in consulting leadership, practice management, or solution delivery leadership.
Proven experience leading ERP implementation programs and business transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of Finance, Accounting, Tax, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Inventory, and Order Management processes.
Demonstrated success supporting pre-sales activities including workshops, solution presentations, effort estimation, proposal development, and customer consulting.
Experience building, mentoring, and managing consulting or implementation teams.
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with international customers, preferably North America.
Willingness to work from Evoort Solutions' Ahmedabad office.
