Key Responsibilities
1. IT Infrastructure Management
-
Manage enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, storage, operating systems, virtualization platforms, cloud environments, and end-user computing.

Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of IT services.

Establish infrastructure standards, policies, and operational procedures.
-
Drive capacity planning, technology refreshes, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
-
Monitor infrastructure health and proactively mitigate operational risks.
2. Backup & Recovery Management
-
Develop and implement enterprise backup and recovery strategies for on-premises and cloud environments.
-
Ensure successful backup execution, monitoring, and reporting.
-
Conduct regular backup restoration tests to validate recoverability.
-
Define and manage backup retention policies in line with business and regulatory requirements.
-
Monitor compliance with RPO (Recovery Point Objective) requirements.
3. Disaster Recovery (DR)
-
Develop, maintain, and enhance Disaster Recovery
-
Define and monitor RPO and RTO targets for critical applications and infrastructure.
-
Coordinate periodic DR drills and failover testing activities.
-
Ensure DR infrastructure readiness and documentation accuracy.
-
Drive closure of observations identified during DR exercises and audits.
4. VMware & Virtualization Management
-
Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, SRM, and associated virtualization technologies.
-
Lead VMware upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning activities.
-
Optimize resource utilization and infrastructure performance across virtual environments.
-
Support virtualization strategy and hybrid cloud integration initiatives.
5. Cloud Infrastructure Management
-
Manage cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS cloud services.
-
Establish cloud governance frameworks, security controls, and operational standards.
-
Monitor cloud utilization and optimize infrastructure costs.
-
Cloud-native adoption, and modernization initiatives.
-
Ensure cloud resilience, backup integration, and regulatory compliance.
6. Hardware Asset Management
-
Manage the lifecycle of servers, storage, laptops, desktops, and network devices.
-
Oversee procurement, deployment, maintenance, warranty management, and disposal activities.
-
Maintain asset inventory accuracy and compliance.
-
Implement hardware refresh and lifecycle management strategies.
7. Software & License Management
-
Manage software procurement, deployment, upgrades, renewals, and retirement.
-
Ensure software license compliance and optimization.
-
Maintain software asset inventory and entitlement records.
-
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business needs.
8. IT Asset Management (ITAM)
-
Establish and govern IT Asset Management processes and policies.
-
Maintain accurate hardware and software asset repositories and CMDB.
-
Conduct periodic asset audits and reconciliations.
-
Ensure compliance with audit, governance, and regulatory requirements.
-
Track asset lifecycle from procurement through disposal.
9. Vendor Management
-
Manage relationships with technology vendors, OEMs, cloud providers, managed service providers, and system integrators.
-
Negotiate contracts, commercial agreements, SLAs, and renewals.
-
Conduct vendor governance and performance review meetings.
-
Drive cost optimization and service improvement initiatives.
-
Ensure vendors meet contractual and regulatory obligations.
10. Security, Governance & Compliance
-
Ensure infrastructure adheres to organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
-
Support internal audits, external audits, and compliance assessments.
-
Drive vulnerability remediation and risk mitigation activities.
-
Collaborate with Information Security teams on security control implementation.
-
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and governance frameworks.
11. Project & Service Management
-
Lead infrastructure, cloud, backup, DR, and transformation projects.
-
Manage budgets, timelines, risks, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
-
Drive automation and process improvement initiatives.
-
Ensure adherence to ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity, Availability, and Configuration Management.
12. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
-
Lead and mentor infrastructure, cloud, backup, and asset management teams.
-
Define KPIs, development plans, and performance objectives.
-
Engage with business leaders to align technology initiatives with business priorities.
-
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
-
Master's Degree (Preferred).

CISSP or equivalent security certification
Experience
-
12–18 years of overall IT experience.
-
Minimum 3–5 years in a for role managing enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.
-
Experience in Backup, Disaster Recovery, VMware Administration, Cloud Management, IT Asset Management, Vendor Management, and Service Delivery.
-
Experience working within regulated industries such as BFSI, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or Enterprise IT environments is preferred.
