New Zealand Fresh & Natural India Private Limited is preparing to introduce a new travel and hospitality startup called EthnicBNB.
EthnicBNB is a platform designed to help travelers discover authentic homes and meaningful cultural experiences. Our goal is to create opportunities for hosts from all backgrounds — including PG owners, small homestays, boutique hotels, and luxury villa owners — to welcome travelers from across India and around the world.
The platform will feature a wide range of accommodations, from affordable rooms and cozy homestays to premium apartments and boutique properties. We believe travel should focus on genuine human connections, local culture, and authentic hospitality.
As we move toward launching the platform, we are assembling a skilled team to build the technology that will power this vision.
Position: Senior Platform Engineering Lead
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineering Lead who will play a critical role in designing and developing the technology behind our startup. This position will work closely with the founders to define system architecture, build core backend services, integrate intelligent automation features, and manage cloud infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building complex systems, solving technical challenges, and leading the development of scalable platforms.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Backend Development
- Design and develop scalable backend services using PHP and Laravel
- Create APIs and backend systems supporting bookings, payments, and platform features
- Design and optimize MySQL databases to ensure high performance and reliability
AI Integration & Automation
- Develop backend integrations and automation services
- Implement intelligent systems that improve booking workflows and operational efficiency
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS, DigitalOcean, and Cloudflare
- Implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Laravel Forge and GitHub Actions
- Oversee deployments, system monitoring, and infrastructure performance
Security & Platform Stability
- Apply strong security practices across the platform infrastructure
- Ensure high availability and reliability of critical services
- Monitor system health and proactively resolve technical issues
Required Skills
- Strong experience with PHP and the Laravel framework
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and AI-related integrations
- Experience working with AWS, DigitalOcean, and Cloudflare services
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL database architecture and optimization
- Experience integrating automation tools and AI-driven systems
- Leadership ability combined with hands-on engineering expertise
Education Requirements
- B.Tech / BE in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
