Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js
- Design, develop, and optimize REST APIs and backend services
- Integrate databases such as MongoDB or MySQL
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless API integration
- Write clean, secure, and maintainable code
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Take ownership of backend features from development to deployment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience in building and consuming REST APIs
- Good knowledge of MongoDB and/or MySQL
- Understanding of authentication (JWT/OAuth) and API security
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
- Basic understanding of cloud deployment and server management is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of backend development experience
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of caching (Redis), WebSockets, or message queues is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
