ABOUT AXENSION AI
Axension AI is a next-generation software technology company building powerful, autonomous, and intelligent AI systems that redefine how work gets done. We design and engineer agentic AI architectures, intelligent models, and automation platforms capable of reducing manual operational workload by up to 60% or more across multiple industries.
Our mission is to create AI systems that do not simply respond they reason, plan, decide, and execute. We believe the future of software lies in autonomous intelligence, and we are building the core technologies that will power that future.
At Axension AI, "Acceleration to Ascension" is not just a tagline it is our philosophy. We help organizations ascend through innovation and accelerate through intelligent automation.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a senior pharmaceutical procurement leader to join us as a Senior Advisor.
We did not start by building software and then looking for a problem. We walked the floor of 70+ pharma plants, sat with procurement teams, and identified the real, daily pain firsthand and only then engineered our solution: an agentic operating system for pharma procurement, not just another "AI agent."
We're now looking for a Senior Advisor — someone who has genuinely lived in pharma procurement for years — to guide our product team on each feature we build, validate whether we're solving the right problems, help us define credible impact metrics, and where useful, join client meetings with us to lend industry credibility. This is an advisory role, not an operational one — roughly 2 to 3 hours a day.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As our Senior Advisor Pharma Procurement, you will:
Advise on product direction so our agentic operating system maps precisely to real procurement workflows sourcing, vendor management, contracting, compliance, and day to day operations.
Validate the pain points we identified across 70+ pharma plants and help us prioritise what to solve next.
Help define and validate impact metrics for example, hours saved per procurement professional per day (early target: 1.8+ hours/day per user), procurement cycle-time reduction, and cost/efficiency gains so customer outcomes are measurable and credible.
Guide pilots and deployments with pharma customers, helping ensure the solution lands in live operations and delivers proven, demonstrable results.
Help us position the product correctly to the market as an agentic operating system for pharma procurement distinct from the now-overused "AI agent" label.
Lend industry credibility and, where appropriate, open relationships across the pharmaceutical ecosystem.
REQUIREMENT
15–35 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, with significant time in senior or leadership roles.
Deep, hands-on knowledge of pharma procurement end-to-end: strategic sourcing, vendor/supplier management, contract negotiation, category management, and procurement compliance.
Strong understanding of pharma manufacturing operations and the regulatory/quality environment procurement works within e.g., GxP-adjacent sourcing of raw materials, APIs, excipients, packaging, and services.
Demonstrated track record of driving measurable efficiency, cost, and cycle-time improvements.
An established network within the pharmaceutical industry.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A strategic thinker who has also done the operational work someone who knows exactly where a procurement team's time actually goes.
Genuine curiosity about AI and automation, and a belief that intelligent systems can transform how procurement runs.
Someone who values evidence comfortable helping us build, validate, and stand behind hard metrics.
A collaborative, candid advisor who is invested in seeing the solution succeed in the real world.
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN
A direct hand in shaping a category-defining product in agentic AI for pharma procurement.
Direct influence over a solution built from real plant-floor insight not theory.
Close association with a fast-moving, next-generation AI company and its leadership.
A meaningful advisory engagement, with recognition and compensation commensurate with your seniority (advisory honorarium and/or equity to be discussed).
The opportunity to leave a lasting fingerprint on how an entire industry modernises its procurement operations.
