Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, qualified, and experienced Mathematics Teacher for Grades 8 and 9 to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should possess strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to make mathematical concepts engaging and easy to understand in alignment with the CBSE curriculum.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons for Grades 8 and 9 as per the CBSE syllabus and guidelines.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessment tools aligned with learning objectives.
- Teach key concepts including algebra, geometry, mensuration, statistics, linear equations, polynomials, coordinate geometry, and number systems.
- Use innovative teaching methodologies, activities, and technology-enabled tools to enhance conceptual understanding.
- Promote problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking among students.
- Prepare students for periodic assessments, unit tests, half-yearly, and annual examinations.
Student Development
- Monitor and evaluate student performance regularly.
- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support to struggling students.
- Encourage higher-order thinking and application-based learning.
- Motivate students to participate in Maths Olympiads, quizzes, and inter-school competitions.
- Maintain discipline and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Assessment & Documentation
- Design question papers, answer keys, and marking schemes as per CBSE pattern.
- Assess answer sheets and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, progress reports, and student portfolios.
- Prepare report card remarks and participate in parent-teacher meetings.
Collaboration & School Responsibilities
- Coordinate with fellow teachers and academic coordinators for curriculum planning.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, workshops, training sessions, and school events.
- Contribute to school initiatives, clubs, assemblies, and co-curricular activities.
- Support examination duties and other administrative responsibilities assigned by the school.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics / Science / Education
- B.Ed. (Mandatory)
- TET / CTET qualification preferred
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school, preferably for Grades 8–9
