Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Plant Head to lead and manage end-to-end manufacturing operations in a construction machinery manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing production, fabrication, assembly, painting, finishing, material planning, procurement, stores, quality, and ERP implementation while driving operational excellence, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations Management
- Oversee complete manufacturing plant operations and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
- Manage fabrication, assembly, painting, finishing, and dispatch activities.
- Develop production plans and ensure achievement of production targets.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor machine utilization, manpower productivity, and overall plant performance.
Material Planning & Supply Chain
- Lead material planning, procurement coordination, and inventory management.
- Oversee stores operations and maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Ensure effective utilization of ERP systems for planning, inventory, and production tracking.
Quality Management
- Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Implement and monitor Quality Control (QC) systems and corrective actions.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and production losses through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the Quality team to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage production supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor workmen.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Conduct performance reviews, training programs, and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain discipline, workforce productivity, and employee engagement.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and workplace safety standards.
- Promote a safe working environment through regular audits and safety awareness programs.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and operational procedures.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
- 15–20 years of experience in manufacturing plant operations.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a managerial or plant leadership role.
- Prior experience in Construction Machinery, Heavy Engineering, Capital Equipment, Fabrication, or Industrial Machinery manufacturing is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, production planning, supply chain management, and quality systems.
