Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, reconciliations, budgeting support, and maintaining financial records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and inter-company reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare and file GST, TDS, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances within due dates.
- Coordinate with auditors for internal, statutory, GST, and tax audits.
- Monitor cash flow, fund management, and working capital requirements.
- Verify invoices, purchase entries, expense vouchers, and payment approvals.
- Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation laws, and company policies.
- Handle fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records.
- Coordinate with banks, vendors, government authorities, and internal departments.
- Guide and supervise junior accountants and accounts assistants.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles and Financial Reporting.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF Functions, SUMIFS, Data Validation, Charts, Financial Reporting, and MIS preparation).
- Hands-on experience with Tally Prime, ERP software (SAP/Oracle/Zoho Books or similar), and accounting systems.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.
- Excellent communication and team management skills.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com).
- M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Accounting and Finance.
- Experience in the Retail, Jewellery, Manufacturing, or FMCG industry will be preferred.
