We are looking for skilled and dedicated OT Technicians to join our Operation Theatre (OT) team. The technician will assist in preparing and maintaining OT equipment, provide support during anesthesia administration, and work on the scrub side during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and smooth functioning of the OT.

Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Preparation:
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures, ensuring proper positioning, draping, and pre-operative requirements.
- Assist anesthetists in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients intraoperatively.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Anesthesia Assistance:
- Set up anesthesia machines, monitors, and related equipment prior to procedures.
- Prepare and check drugs, IV fluids, and consumables required for anesthesia.
- Monitor patient vitals under supervision during surgery and assist in emergency airway management.
- Support anesthetists during intubation, extubation, and recovery phases.
Scrub Side (Scrab) Duties:
- Prepare the OT by ensuring all surgical instruments, consumables, and sterile equipment are ready.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile items during surgery.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and ensure sterility throughout the procedure.
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs to ensure smooth surgical flow.
Equipment & Instrumentation:
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot OT equipment such as suction machines, cautery, and sterilizers.
- Handle and care for surgical instruments and ensure their sterilization and safe storage post-procedure.
- Assist in setting up specialized equipment for complex surgeries.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of instruments, sponges, and consumables used during surgery.
- Assist in preparing operative notes and anesthesia charts as required.
- Report any equipment malfunction or incident to the OT in-charge immediately.
Infection Control & Safety:
- Adhere strictly to OT infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
- Maintain sterile environment and follow hospital safety policies during procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma in OT Technology from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 1–3 years of OT experience preferred (exposure to both anesthesia and scrub side).
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of OT procedures, aseptic techniques and anesthesia support.
- Proficiency in handling OT and anesthesia equipment.
- Effective communication and ability to coordinate with surgical and nursing teams.
- Quick decision-making and presence of mind in emergencies.
- Empathy, discipline, and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
