Core responsibilities
- Financial record keeping: Maintain accurate daily accounting records, including sales, purchases, cash, bank transactions, and journal entries.
- Statutory compliance: Ensure and handle timely filing and payment of statutory dues, such as GST, TDS, PF, and ESI.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly MIS reports, profit and loss statements, and other financial statements.
- Accounts payable and receivable: Process vendor bills, prepare vouchers, and manage payments. Track and follow up on customer payments to ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Auditing and reconciliation: Support internal and external audits and perform bank reconciliations.
- Inventory and cost accounting: Assist with maintaining inventory records of raw materials and support cost accounting and analysis.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Key skills and qualifications
- Technical skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally) is often required.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse financial data and identify potential issues.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous in handling financial records and compliance.
- Organizational and time management skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication skills: Ability to interact with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
