JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of high-pressure industrial boilers (e.g., AFBC, WHRB, or coal-fired). This includes real-time monitoring of critical parameters, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring strict compliance with regulations like the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR).
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Control: Safely start up, regulate, and shut down boilers and auxiliary equipment (pumps, fans, air compressors).
* Parameter Monitoring: Maintain hourly logs of pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel flow using gauges .
* Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boiler components, valves, and burners to prevent downtime.
* Water Treatment: Test boiler water quality (pH, hardness) and adjust chemical dosing (scale inhibitors, oxygen scavengers) to prevent corrosion.
* Efficiency Optimization: Adjust fuel-to-air ratios and combustion controls to ensure optimal thermal efficiency and minimize fuel consumption.
* Safety & Compliance: Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify the functionality of all safety devices, such as low-water cut-offs.
Qualifications & Skills
* Certification: Must possess a valid 1st Class or 2nd Class Boiler Attendant Certificate.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or power plant setting.
* Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of thermodynamics, combustion, and steam distribution networks.
