Where - Based in your territory, not in our office.
Hours - 9 AM to 6 PM · Monday to Saturday (4th Saturday off)
Industry - Engineering · HVAC · Industrial Systems
We make large industrial fans.
The kind that hang from a factory roof and move air across an entire shed. Contractors across your region buy them, add their margin, and install them for their own clients. They are not sentimental about brands. They buy from whoever picks up the phone, quotes the same day, and doesn’t create a problem on site.
That’s the whole job. It sounds simple. Most people are surprisingly bad at it.
What the work actually is
- Know every electrical, HVAC and turnkey contractor working in your territory. Not a list you bought. A list you built.
- Meet them, and keep meeting them. This job happens on site and on the phone, not in an inbox.
- Quote fast and quote right. The second-fastest quotation is usually the losing one.
- Follow up until the order arrives, or until you know exactly why it didn’t. Both are useful. Only one is comfortable.
- Hold price where it should be held. Anyone can win an order by giving away margin.
- Stay close to your sites, so that when a contractor calls on Tuesday you’re not offering him Friday.
- Write things down. Memory is a poor CRM.
You’ll do well here if
- The phone doesn’t frighten you. Neither does an industrial estate at 3 in the afternoon.
- You’d rather have 30 live relationships than 3 perfect ones.
- You can negotiate without either caving or picking a fight.
- You remember what somebody told you three weeks ago, and do something about it.
- You’re competitive quietly rather than loudly.
This probably isn’t for you if
None of these is character flaws. They just make for a long, unhappy year in this job.
- You’d like leads to arrive already warm.
- You want the same desk and the same hours every day.
- Your first move under price pressure is to drop the price.
- You’d find the tenth follow-up tedious rather than satisfying.
What you’ll need
- Common sense. (Rare, we know.)
- 3–6 years selling a physical product to contractors, dealers or projects: HVAC, electrical, industrial equipment or building materials.
- Contractors in your region who already take your calls. This matters more to us than the college you went to.
- Workable spoken and written English.
- A vehicle, and a willingness to use it.
What you’ll gain
- A territory of your own, and the authority to run it.
- Direct visibility with leadership. This is a small enough company that your work is seen by the people who decide things.
- Exposure to the wider HVAC and industrial ventilation market.
- A product range that already sells, rather than one you have to apologize for.
What we pay
We pay at or above market on the fixed component, and we build the incentive on top of it rather than out of it. It’s aggressive and performance-linked; our better people earn close to their salary again.
There’s also an increment every year. We treat that as our obligation rather than your achievement if you’re not worth more to us after 12 months than you were on the day you joined, that’s a failure of our training, not your effort.
Who we are
- We design and build industrial air movement systems used in factories, warehouses, automotive plants and large commercial buildings across India.
- Our products are already accepted in the market. We aren’t starting from zero. We’re scaling something that already works, and we need stronger people to do it faster.
- We’re a 50-year-old engineering and manufacturing company, and for the next 12 to 24 months this will feel less like a 50-year-old company and more like a system being rebuilt in real time. Fast. Occasionally chaotic. High ownership throughout.
How we work
- You’ll be based in your territory. There’s no daily commute, because there’s little sense in driving to an office in order to drive back out to a customer. That isn’t a perk. It’s arithmetic.
- Behind you: quotations, technical support, production, service.
- In front of you: your own week, to run as you see fit.
- We’ve tried to describe this work accurately rather than attractively. If it reads like hard work, that’s because we wrote it honestly.
How to apply
- Read the next 4 paragraphs properly before you write to us. They’ll save us both some time.
- If you’re already doing this exact work with the same audience selling something else to contractors across your region, say so plainly. That’s the shortest route through our process, and you’ll hear from us quickly.
- If you’re doing something close to it in a different industry, we’re still interested. Products can be taught. Territories can be learned. Working habits are much harder to install.
- And if you’re somewhere adjacent but confident you’d be good at this, tell us why you’re confident.
- That last one is the real question, so here it is plainly. Knowing 300 contractors doesn’t mean 300 people would buy from you. What makes you sure the same relationships can support a different product?
- And when you’ve built one of those relationships from nothing, was that luck, personality, or something you could describe to us as a method?
- If it’s a method, we’d like to hear it. Most people can’t describe theirs, which is exactly why we ask. Then send your CV to [email protected], subject line “I know how to work a territory.” Add a short note in your own words: why this role, and why you?
