About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and motivated OHE Design Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in Railway Electrification projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating Overhead Equipment (OHE) designs for railway infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with RDSO, Railway Board, and client specifications.
Project Location
The position is based at Nagercoil Junction & Nagercoil Station Yard, Tamil Nadu, under the Southern Railway, involving OHE and General Electrical Works for station yard modifications, stabling lines, and associated railway electrification infrastructure. Site visits and coordination with execution teams will be an integral part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of OHE layout plans, cross-sections, wiring plans, and structure drawings.
- Design and preparation of Foundation Drawings, Structure Erection Drawings, and Sectioning Diagrams.
- Development of OHE Profile Drawings, Implantation Plans (SIPs), and Earthing & Bonding layouts.
- Preparation and review of BOQ, material schedules, and design calculations.
- Coordination with site execution teams for resolving design-related issues.
- Conducting route surveys and verification of field data for design inputs.
- Ensuring compliance with RDSO specifications, Indian Railways standards, and project requirements.
- Preparation of As-Built Drawings and design submission documents.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and approval authorities for design approvals.
- Providing technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Experience in Railway Electrification (RE) and OHE Design.
- Knowledge of 25 kV AC Traction System.
- Familiarity with RDSO specifications, Railway Standards, and relevant IS Codes.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Railway Electrification/OHE Design experience preferred.
- Desired Candidate Profile
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in Railway Electrification/OHE Design.
- Experience in RVNL, Railways, DFCCIL, Metro Rail, or Railway EPC projects preferred.
- Strong technical, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a project-oriented environment and interact with site teams.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
