About the Role
Origin Twenty Three is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Coffee Roaster to lead our roasting program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of coffee processing, roasting profiles, quality control, and sourcing, with a commitment to delivering exceptional coffee experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Roast coffee according to established profiles and quality standards.
- Develop and refine roast profiles for different origins and processing methods.
- Conduct cupping sessions and quality evaluations.
- Monitor green coffee inventory and roasting schedules.
- Maintain roasting equipment and ensure proper operation.
- Record and analyze roast data for consistency and improvement.
- Collaborate with the Head Barista to optimize coffee performance for espresso and filter brewing.
- Train café staff on coffee origins, processing, and flavor profiles.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance within the roasting area.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Coffee Roaster preferred.
- Strong sensory skills and cupping knowledge.
- Understanding of coffee origins, processing methods, and roasting theory.
- Ability to work independently and maintain consistency.
- Passion for specialty coffee and continuous learning.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
