- Teach English language and literature according to the prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare structured lesson plans, assignments, worksheets, projects, and assessments.
- Teach grammar, prose, poetry, literature, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.
- Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Monitor student performance and provide remedial or additional support where required.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, discussion, presentation, and effective communication.
- Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive learning environment.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, and assessment data.
- Conduct parent-teacher interactions regarding students' academic progress.
- Participate in examinations, staff meetings, school functions, and co-curricular activities.
- Organize activities such as debates, elocution, essay writing, quizzes, reading clubs, and literary events.
- Incorporate appropriate digital tools and innovative teaching methodologies into lessons.
- Bachelor's degree in English or a relevant subject from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification.
- CTET/TET qualification where required by the recruiting authority.
- Strong command of English language, grammar, and literature.
- Relevant teaching experience is desirable, depending on the institution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar and literature.
- Effective lesson planning and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to engage students through interactive teaching methods.
- Good assessment and student-support skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
