Academic Mentor (Kollam)
Role Overview
The Academic Mentor drives student success at our Kollam campus by bridging the gap between Class 11–12 Board syllabus and competitive exam prep (NEET/JEE). This role combines data analytics, strategic tutoring, and empathetic student counseling in a high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data-Driven Academic Tracking
- Performance Diagnostics: Analyze student data from Daily Practice Problems (DPPs) and Chapter-Wise Exams (CWEs) for both Board and NEET/JEE tracks.
- Trend Identification: Pinpoint performance gaps, specifically targeting students excelling in descriptive Boards but struggling with competitive MCQs.
- Targeted Interventions: Design weekly corrective actions and remedial practice sessions for struggling students.
- Dual-Style Grading: Evaluate descriptive answer depth (Boards) alongside MCQ speed and precision (NEET/JEE).
2. Schedule & Curriculum Alignment
- Execution: Deliver lessons that seamlessly blend Board theory with application-heavy NEET/JEE shortcuts.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to the Kollam campus timetable and master academic calendar.
- Synergy: Ensure core conceptual clarity for laboratory practicals alongside competitive exam strategy.
3. Student Mentorship & Batch Management
- Batch Operations: Manage a batch of 35+ students, executing a structured weekly routine of DPP grading, individual feedback, and dedicated doubt-clearing.
- Holistic Monitoring: Maintain updated academic, behavioral, and emotional logs for every student.
- Counseling: Conduct goal-oriented, motivational sessions to rebuild confidence and manage exam stress.
- Campus Oversight: Conduct regular residential hostel rounds to maintain discipline and a positive study environment.
4. Communication & Administration
- Parental Engagement: Conduct biweekly performance updates with parents; communicate fluently in Malayalam to build trust.
- Expectation Management: Align parental expectations regarding the balance between Board scores and national competitive ranks.
- Operations: Manage batch-specific fee tracking and log updates accurately onto the internal portal.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Academic Command: Strong conceptual mastery of Class 11–12 Science/Math syllabi aligned with Board and NEET/JEE frameworks.
- Analytical Skill: Ability to translate test scores into actionable, personalized study plans.
- Scale Management: Proven success handling 35+ students without compromising on individual feedback quality.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; fluent in English and Malayalam to effectively connect with Kollam-based parents and teenagers.
- Discipline & Empathy: Strong time management under tight academic calendars, driven by a student-first, result-oriented mindset.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
