Job Title: Plant Head
Location: Nashik, Maharashtra
Job Summary
The Plant Head will be responsible for leading and managing the overall manufacturing operations of Press Metal Industries, including Sheet Metal Press Shop, Tool Room, Heavy Fabrication, Medium Fabrication, Quality, Maintenance, Production Planning, Stores, and Supply Chain functions. The role requires ensuring operational excellence, cost optimization, productivity improvement, quality compliance, and timely delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Lead end-to-end plant operations for sheet metal pressed/stamped components, heavy fabrication structures, medium fabrication components, and customer-specific products.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and resources.
- Monitor and improve plant productivity, efficiency, and equipment utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs and improve operational performance.
Cost Reduction & Process Improvement
- Lead value engineering initiatives to achieve material savings and process optimization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction across all manufacturing activities.
- Support tooling and process development to minimize material wastage and improve profitability.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive a zero-defect manufacturing culture and continuous quality improvement.
- Monitor customer complaints and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Heavy & Medium Fabrication Operations
- Oversee fabrication, welding, machining, finishing, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure fabrication quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to customer drawings and specifications.
- Improve productivity and efficiency in fabrication operations through process optimization and resource planning.
Planning & Supply Chain
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize material availability.
- Ensure on-time delivery performance as per customer commitments.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor departmental heads, supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor personnel.
- Develop a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and succession planning.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- MBA Operations .
Experience
- 15–20+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Minimum 5–8 years in a Plant Head / Factory Head / Operations Head role.
- Strong experience in Sheet Metal Pressing, Stamping, Tooling, Heavy Fabrication, Medium Fabrication, Welding, and Engineering Manufacturing industries.
