Medical Coding Trainer – Job Description (Chennai)
We are looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Medical Coding Trainer to train students and freshers in medical coding concepts, healthcare documentation, and coding standards. The trainer should be able to explain concepts clearly with practical examples and industry-oriented training.
Job Role
- Train students in medical coding from basic to advanced level
- Teach ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Conduct practical sessions on healthcare documentation and coding processes
- Guide students in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Support interview preparation and certification guidance
- Prepare training materials, assignments, and assessments
- Conduct doubt-clearing sessions and monitor student progress
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Medical Coding concepts
- ICD-10
- CPT
- HCPCS
- Medical Terminology
- Human Anatomy & Physiology
- Understanding of:
- Healthcare documentation
- Insurance and billing processes
- Coding compliance and guidelines
- Healthcare revenue cycle basics
- Good communication and teaching skills
- Ability to explain medical concepts in a simple and understandable way
Preferred Qualifications
- Any Life Science / Pharmacy / Nursing / Medical-related degree
- Medical Coding Certification preferred (CPC, CCS, etc.)
- Previous training or healthcare industry experience is an advantage
