About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and organized Lab Assistant to support the Kitchen & Restaurant department by ensuring the smooth execution of practical training sessions. The ideal candidate will assist faculty, maintain laboratory standards, manage equipment and inventory, and help create a safe, professional learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist faculty during kitchen and restaurant practical sessions.
- Prepare and arrange ingredients, equipment, utensils, and service stations before classes.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in laboratories and storage areas.
- Support students during practical training and demonstrations.
- Manage inventory, stock records, and proper storage of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Ensure the upkeep and smooth functioning of kitchen and restaurant equipment.
- Assist in institutional events, food production, catering, and service activities.
- Procure raw materials as instructed by faculty and ensure timely availability.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is dependable, hands-on, and passionate about hospitality operations. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of kitchen and restaurant practices, takes pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene and organization, and enjoys supporting practical learning experiences for students.
Eligibility
- Diploma or Certificate in Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Hotel Management, or a related field (mandatory).
- Basic knowledge of kitchen and restaurant operations.
Skills Required
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to handle kitchen and restaurant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in a hotel, restaurant, hospitality institute, or similar environment.
