Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in footwear heel design, reverse engineering, CAD/CAM modeling, and mold development. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Autodesk software, Siemens NX, STL file handling, and reverse engineering processes for developing production-ready heel designs and tooling solutions.
The candidate will be responsible for converting concepts, customer samples, and physical prototypes into accurate 3D models, molds, and manufacturing drawings while ensuring design feasibility and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop footwear heels, wedges, soles, and related footwear components.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models based on customer requirements and market trends.
- Perform reverse engineering of physical samples, customer references.
- Generate, modify, and optimize STL, STEP, IGES, and other CAD files for manufacturing purposes.
- Develop production-ready designs for tooling, molds, and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with development, production, tool room, and quality teams to ensure successful execution of projects.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support CNC machining and mold development activities through accurate CAD/CAM data.
- Conduct design reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvements.
- Ensure timely completion of development projects while maintaining quality standards.
Required Technical SkillsCAD/CAM Software
- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Autodesk Fusion 360
- Siemens NX (NX CAD/CAM) – Mandatory
Reverse Engineering
- Strong experience in reverse engineering using physical samples and/or 3D scan data.
- Ability to convert scan data into accurate CAD models.
- Experience with STL file generation, modification, repair, and optimization.
Manufacturing & Tooling
- Mold design and development.
- Tooling design for heel manufacturing.
- Understanding of CNC machining processes.
- Knowledge of castable molds and production tooling.
- Product development from concept to commercialization.
Additional Skills
- Strong understanding of footwear construction and heel manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple development projects.
- Good communication and team coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, Footwear Design, or related field.
- Experience in footwear, heel manufacturing, sole manufacturing, mold manufacturing, or related industries.
- Exposure to 3D scanning technologies and rapid prototyping processes will be preferred.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in footwear component design and development.
- Expertise in Autodesk Software, Siemens NX, Reverse Engineering, and STL file handling.
- Proven experience in developing molds and tooling for heel manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and manufacturing feasibility.
- Ability to independently handle customer developments from sample stage to production.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
