1. Job Purpose
The Foundational Year Coordinator will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of academic and co-curricular activities for the Foundational Stage. The role will ensure that teaching-learning practices are age-appropriate, engaging, child-centred, and aligned with the school's academic objectives and applicable curriculum framework.
The coordinator will work closely with teachers, parents, academic leadership, and school management to ensure the overall academic and developmental progress of young learners.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Academic Planning & Coordination
- Plan and coordinate the academic activities of the Foundational Stage.
- Ensure timely implementation of the academic curriculum and yearly plans.
- Coordinate lesson planning, worksheets, activities, projects, and classroom resources.
- Monitor the completion and quality of academic plans.
- Ensure consistency in teaching-learning practices across classes.
B. Teacher Coordination & Support
- Guide and mentor Foundational Stage teachers in effective classroom practices.
- Conduct regular meetings with teachers to discuss academic progress and challenges.
- Support teachers in lesson planning and activity-based learning.
- Observe classroom teaching and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate with the Academic Head for teacher development.
C. Child-Centred Learning
- Promote play-based, experiential, activity-based, and child-centred learning.
- Encourage development of language, numeracy, cognitive, physical, social, and emotional skills.
- Ensure classroom activities are appropriate for the age and developmental level of children.
- Encourage creativity, curiosity, communication, and active participation among students.
D. Student Progress & Assessment
- Monitor students' academic and developmental progress.
- Coordinate age-appropriate assessment and evaluation practices.
- Review assessment records and identify students requiring additional support.
- Work with teachers to develop suitable intervention strategies.
- Maintain appropriate academic records and progress reports.
E. Classroom Observation & Quality Monitoring
- Conduct regular classroom observations.
- Monitor classroom environment, teaching practices, student engagement, and discipline.
- Ensure effective use of teaching-learning materials and resources.
- Share feedback with teachers and follow up on improvement areas.
F. Parent Coordination
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding children's academic and developmental progress.
- Address parent concerns related to academics and classroom learning.
- Coordinate parent-teacher meetings and other parent engagement activities.
- Promote positive collaboration between parents and the school.
G. Curriculum & Resource Development
- Assist in developing age-appropriate teaching-learning resources.
- Coordinate preparation of worksheets, activities, projects, displays, and learning materials.
- Ensure resources support experiential and activity-based learning.
- Encourage innovative teaching practices among teachers.
H. Events & Activities
- Coordinate Foundational Stage celebrations, events, competitions, assemblies, and activities.
- Plan age-appropriate co-curricular and experiential activities.
- Ensure proper coordination, student safety, and participation during activities.
- Maintain an annual calendar of relevant academic and co-curricular activities.
I. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain academic and administrative records related to the Foundational Stage.
- Prepare periodic reports for the Academic Head / Principal.
- Track curriculum completion, teacher performance, student progress, and activity implementation.
- Maintain records of meetings, observations, interventions, and follow-up actions.
J. Discipline, Safety & Well-being
- Promote a safe, respectful, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor classroom discipline and age-appropriate behaviour management.
- Ensure teachers follow school policies and child-safety procedures.
- Escalate concerns related to student safety, behaviour, or well-being to the appropriate authority.

4. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education / Early Childhood Education / Elementary Education or a relevant field.
- B.Ed., D.El.Ed., NTT, ECCE, or equivalent qualification will be preferred.
- Knowledge of foundational-stage teaching and child development will be an advantage.
5. Experience
Preferred: 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, with experience in a coordination or leadership role in the Foundational Stage preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
