Job Summary
A Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the hospital premises, patients, visitors, staff, and assets. The Security Guard monitors entry and exit points, prevents unauthorized access, manages emergency situations, and ensures compliance with hospital security protocols to provide a safe healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Security Duties
- Monitor hospital entrances, exits, and sensitive areas.
- Verify visitor entry and maintain visitor records as per hospital policy.
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, parking areas, and surrounding zones.
- Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Report suspicious activities, security breaches, or safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure safety and security of hospital property and equipment.
Patient & Visitor Management
- Guide patients and visitors to appropriate departments.
- Maintain order in waiting areas, OPD, emergency, and inpatient departments.
- Assist in crowd management during peak hours and emergencies.
- Handle visitor-related issues professionally and courteously.
- Ensure compliance with hospital visiting hours and regulations.
Emergency & Incident Management
- Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, fire alarms, and security incidents.
- Assist in evacuation procedures during emergencies.
- Coordinate with hospital administration, police, fire services, and emergency response teams when required.
- Prepare incident reports and maintain security logs.
- Support emergency department staff in managing critical situations.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain records of visitors, vendors, and contractors.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report unusual activities.
- Check and record movement of hospital assets and materials.
- Ensure all security equipment is functioning properly.
- Submit daily security reports to the Security Supervisor or Administration Department.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5th or 8th pass from a recognized board.
- Security Guard training certificate preferred.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and emergency response.
- First Aid knowledge is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong observation and vigilance skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Basic knowledge of CCTV monitoring and access control systems.
- Professional behavior and customer-service orientation.
- Physical fitness and stamina for extended duty hours.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
- Fresher or 1–3 years of experience in security services, preferably in hospitals, healthcare facilities, residential societies, or commercial establishments.
Working Conditions
- Hospital premises including OPD, IPD, Emergency, Parking Areas, and Administrative Blocks.
- Rotational shifts including day, night, weekends, public holidays, and emergency duty coverage.
- Standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods may be required.
Salary Range
Typically, ₹12,000 – ₹18,000+ per month, depending on experience, location, shift responsibilities, and hospital policies.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
