About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and patient-focused Patient Counsellor / Financial Counsellor to join our reputed Ophthalmology Centre in New Delhi.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a hospital, preferably as a Financial Counsellor, Patient Counsellor, or Insurance/TPA Counsellor, with excellent communication and patient-handling skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding recommended treatments and surgical procedures.
- Prepare and explain surgery estimates, packages, and treatment costs to patients.
- Clearly explain different surgery packages and payment-related information.
- Assist patients with TPA/insurance documentation and formalities.
- Coordinate with doctors and patients regarding treatment plans and procedures.
- Handle patient queries proactively and provide accurate information.
- Follow up with patients regarding treatment decisions and scheduled procedures.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Maintain proper records and update patient-related information in the system.
- Build trust with patients and attendants through professional and empathetic communication.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant hospital experience preferred.
- Proven experience as a Patient Counsellor / Financial Counsellor in a reputed hospital.
- Experience in surgery counselling, estimates, packages, TPA/insurance, or patient billing will be an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer knowledge and basic MS Office skills.
- Strong convincing, counselling, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle patients and attendants professionally and patiently.
- Should be confident, presentable, and proactive.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
- Candidates must be willing to relocate to New Delhi before joining, if required.
