Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled InDesign Designer with at least 1 year of experience in Adobe InDesign and the book publishing industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in book layout, typesetting, page formatting, and preparing print-ready files while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and format books, journals, manuals, and other publishing materials using Adobe InDesign.
- Create professional page layouts, templates, and master pages.
- Perform typesetting, text formatting, and image placement according to publishing standards.
- Ensure consistency in fonts, styles, spacing, and overall document formatting.
- Prepare print-ready PDFs and files for production.
- Coordinate with editors, proofreaders, and production teams to implement corrections.
- Maintain quality standards and meet project deadlines.
- Handle revisions and update files based on client or editorial feedback.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Adobe InDesign.
- Experience in book publishing, book composition, or print publishing.
- Strong knowledge of page layout, typography, and typesetting principles.
- Experience preparing print-ready files for production.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe InDesign (knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is an added advantage).
- Good attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Publishing, Multimedia, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification or professional training in Adobe InDesign is an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with publishing houses or book production companies.
- Knowledge of print production processes and publishing standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
