The Hostel Warden is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hostel, ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of residents. The role includes supervision, administration, and maintaining a comfortable living environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall management and smooth functioning of the hostel
- Ensure discipline, safety, and security of all residents
- Maintain attendance and records of students/residents
- Address complaints, issues, and conflicts among residents
- Enforce hostel rules, regulations, and code of conduct
- Coordinate with management, parents, and staff when required
- Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of hostel premises
- Supervise hostel staff such as cleaners, cooks, and security personnel
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and facilities
- Manage hostel admissions, room allotments, and check-ins/check-outs
- Handle emergencies and provide first-level support
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Prior experience in hostel management, administration, or similar role - 5 years required
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle disciplinary issues with fairness and firmness
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
- Basic administrative and record-keeping skills
