Junior Engineer – Quality Inspection (Castings)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Engineer – Quality Inspection with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering to support quality inspection activities in the R3 & Straddling section. The candidate will be responsible for visual and dimensional inspection of castings during in-process and final stages, ensuring products meet specified quality and dimensional requirements. The role also requires knowledge of measuring instruments and basic computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of castings during in-process and final inspection stages.
- Carry out dimensional inspection of components as per drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain inspection records and prepare inspection reports.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming/rejected components and report quality issues to the concerned supervisor/department.
- Coordinate with production personnel regarding quality-related issues and corrective actions.
- Ensure inspection is carried out at both in-process and final stages.
- Handle and maintain measuring instruments properly and ensure their correct usage.
- Maintain proper documentation and traceability of inspected components.
- Support the Quality team in maintaining quality standards and reducing rejection/rework.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Candidates with experience in casting inspection/quality will be an added advantage.
Computer Skills:
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel
- MS Word
- MS PowerPoint
- Email handling
- Basic data entry and preparation of inspection reports.
Desired Skills:
- Basic knowledge of casting processes and casting defects
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Knowledge of dimensions and tolerances
- Good observation and inspection skills
- Basic knowledge of quality procedures
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/production environment
- Ability to maintain inspection records accurately.
Experience:
- 6 Months in Quality/Inspection/Manufacturing.
- Freshers with Diploma in Mechanical Engineering can also be considered.
