We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchase Manager to lead the procurement of consumables, spare parts, and services required for the efficient operation and maintenance of plant machinery and company vehicles. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, inventory planning, and ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure consumables, spare parts, tools, and maintenance items for plant machinery and vehicles.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automotive spares.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize purchase orders to achieve cost savings and timely deliveries.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with maintenance and stores teams to ensure optimum inventory.
- Identify and source alternate vendors and substitute materials to reduce procurement risks.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, supplier agreements, and ERP data accurately.
- Track critical and long-lead items to avoid production and maintenance downtime.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and pricing.
- Coordinate with maintenance, production, and finance teams for procurement planning and budget control.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain transparency in all purchasing activities.
- Prepare periodic reports on purchase spend, savings, vendor performance, and inventory status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of industrial consumables, machinery spares, and automotive spare parts procurement.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement reporting.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.
